Locate Updates to Provider Title Lists

Once you've located a set of title lists, it's valuable to figure out how the provider will update these lists and how often.

Step 1: Determine update frequency

  • Determine how frequently the provider makes updates to their title lists available.
  • Sometimes the provider will make this information available on the site where they post their lists.
  • It's possible you may need to determine update frequency by monitoring a provider's lists over time.
  • If you are in touch with a provider contact, you can ask them.

Step 2: Determine how the provider makes updates available

  • Determine whether the provider updates by posting new complete lists, posting updates only, or both.
  • As above, you may need to figure out this information by trial and error or by asking.

Step 3: Determine if the vendor provides an update feed

  • Some providers post updates as they occur using a web site, RSS feed, e-mail list or other method. (Example)
  • Search the provider's site to see if you can locate an update feed.
  • If you are responsible for a provider or subset of a provider's packages, you may want to sign up for these updates.
