Verify a Package Record in GOKb

Once you've ingested a title list into GOKb using OpenRefine, the first think you should do if verify the package record for that list.

Steps

Step 1: Locate your package in the GOKb web app

• Open the GOKb web application.
  
  • Test: http://test-gokb.kuali.org/gokb
  • Live: http://gokb.kuali.org/gokb
• Use the Search>Packages menu to locate the package you are working with.

Step 2: Review the package name

• Confirm that your package name is correct.
• If you think that people might search for the package using a term that isn't contained in the name, add a variant name.

Step 3: Populate package metadata

• Verify or populate the following fields, when the information is available:
  • Provider
  • Source
  • Scope
  • Breakable
  • Consistent
  • Fixed
  • Global

Step 4: Populate list verification details

• Populate the following fields related to your review of the list.
  • List verifier: This should be you, or the person you expect to address any review tasks or follow up work associated with this list.
  • List verifier date: At this point, this field should show when you began verifying the list.
  • Edit status: This will probably be "In progress" unless you know there is no additional work to do.
  • List status: This will probably be "In progress" unless you know there is no additional work to do.
