Description

When trying to obtain the holds for a patron on a Sierra system, we receive the error “This record is not available" investigation is required to try and understand why we are receiving this error and what we can do, to potentially work around it.

Side effects:

  1. The request has been placed at the supplying agency, so the item will be shipped to the borrowing agency who will not be expecting it or know who has requested the item.

Investigations required:

  1. Check if the virtual item has been created

  2. Check the code to see what additional logging could be added to help resolve the situation

  3. Add a report about which sites it is happening against, to see how wide this problem is

  4. Check we are creating the item with the correct status

fixed with a change on Sierra to their item record template to make items unsuppressed upon creation.

Not for code s, the one they were using. They blocked holds on b, d, m
and z.

from slack: With regards to MRRL, they havn't by any chance setup Request rules to block when an item is suppressed (https://documentation.iii.com/sierrahelp/Content/sadmin/sadmin_admin_corner_request_rules.html), just came accross them

I think suppressed = true means do not show it in the public display, if that is the case then I would expect both to be true
