The ReShare DCB team are developing functionality to support direct consortial borrowing in mixed library networks where member libraries interact primarily with their host library management systems, with ReShare working behind the scenes to coordinate members, rather than providing an ILL user interface. We will be building on on the core reshare libraries, but DCB networks tend to be structured as star networks whereas today ReShare networks are usually more of a mesh topology. Because of this the DCB team are developing “Hub” functionality which can sit at the centre of consortial networks (And perhaps between consortial networks.

The team is initially working with the MOBIUS consortium to develop and deliver functionality over 2023 but with a constant eye on developing a DCB strand / swim-lane for the ReShare system.
