OVERVIEW
The responsibilities of this position highlight the planning, implementation, and execution of detailed quality assurance standards in support of the Kuali Open Library Environment (OLE). This person will develop the QA plan for software in accordance with Kuali QA goals and standards. The role of the Kuali QA Manager is to lead and coordinate the overall quality assurance efforts of the Kuali OLE project to deliver quality software with robust functionality. Â The Quality Assurance Manager establishes Kuali software testing and signoff procedures. Lead and organize effort to create Kuali testing scripts. Participate in the incorporation of testing requirements in build specifications. Coordinate functional testing and signoff. Implements software bug tracking processes. Track application of usability/accessibility recommendations in software. Develop code review process to ensure adherence to Kuali development standards and architecture. Coordinate system performance testing to ensure service level goals met. Coordinate selection, deployment and use of QA tools.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in library science or IT related field and two years of experience in information technology and six months or more of experience with IT functionality testing software tools.Â

- Strong written and oral communication skills; demonstrated problem-solving ability and strong lateral thinking; ability to demonstrate coordinated problem-solving and troubleshooting, including remote support for configuration and functional issues; and strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a diverse distributed community environment.
- Â Experience in functional acceptance testing and information technologies including the following tools, or their equivalent: testing Tools (IE: Selenium IDE, Selenium Webdriver); additional Tools (IE: Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Google Drive, Balsamiq); and programming Languages (IE: Javascript, Ruby, proficiency in XPath and CSS expressions, working knowledge of HTML and XML, familiarity with Object Oriented design, familiarity with Agile Sprint development).Â
- Demonstrated proficiency in structured software testing approaches and ability to prepare written documentation supported with illustrations, instructional material,s and presentations.Â
Preferred: Familiarity with Kuali Rice application development framework, functional understanding of Kuali Financial System acquisitions workflow; familiarity with MARC and DublinCore library cataloging standards; familiarity with Open Source design philosophy, awareness of Open Source licensing conventions.Â
