Full text of error

platform.host.name One or more rows contain no data for column platform.host.name

Description

Platform.host.name is a required data element in GOKb, so you will receive this error message if any of the cells are left blank. If the appropriate platform doesn't exist in GOKb, please consult the editor to find out if it should be added.

Solutions

Update platform names with the Reconcile function

  1. From the Platform column's dropdown menu, select Reconcile
  2. Select Start Reconciling
  3. Click GOKb
  4. Choose the radio button next to Platform
  5. Click Start Reconciling
  6. You should see the Platform column populate with names and checkboxes. Click the double checks to add the name of the platform to all matching rows.

If all the titles in your project have the same provider:

  1. In the first cell of your platform.host.name column, click "Edit."
  2. In the edit dialogue that appears, right click in the white area.
  3. The GOKb lookup menu will appear. Choose "Platform." The Lookup Platform dialogue will appear.
  4. Type in the first few letters of the platform you are looking for.
  5. Choose the correct platform from the results list and click OK.
  6. You will see the name of the platform, along with a GOKb identifier, in the edit dialogue. (Ex. Cambridge University Press::{Platform:67251})
  7. Click "Apply."
  8. The platform name will now be in the first cell in your column.
  9. Click the small triangle menu at the top of your column.
  10. Choose "Edit cells>Fill down." The platform name and identifier will be filled down through all the remaining blank cells in your column.

If the titles in your project have different providers:

  1. Use OpenRefine to facet your project to show only those titles that are on the same platform.
  2. Perform steps 1-10 as described above.
  3. Re-facet your project to show the next group of titles with the same platform.
  4. Repeat steps 1-10 above.
  5. Repeat this process as necessary for each group of titles with the same platform.
