DCB Admin for Libraries Roadmap

DCB Admin for Libraries Roadmap

DCB Admin for Libraries is an all-new web application for library staff in consortiums using DCB. Tailored to the tasks library staff do every day, it aims to give library staff the ability to seamlessly manage and monitor their own library’s DCB experience.

Pre-Release Functionality (Released August 12)

This is functionality that was included in the initial pre-release deployment sent out to the Pre-Release Testing Group. It comes with the usual disclaimer that there may be unforeseen glitches or bugs.

Library users will be able to …

  • View and query the shared index, with the default search being ‘search by title’.

  • Provide different types of queries for the shared index - we currently support simple queries, LuceneQL, Lucene Builder queries and CQL queries.

  • New: The ability to search by different attributes (title, ISBN, ISSN, author, language and subject to start with, to go with the existing keyword search).

  • New: The ability to combine some searches with AND, OR etc (also known as “advanced search”).

Future functionality

This is functionality that we would like to include in future releases, but we have not yet committed to.

  • The ability for consortium users to add new “DCB Admin for Libraries” users via DCB Admin.

  • The ability for library users to view a filtered data change log which only shows changes for their library.

  • The ability to provide feedback straight from DCB Admin for Libraries.

  • The ability for library users to choose their library on first sign-in, rather than it needing to be assigned.

Requested functionality

This section will include functionality suggested or requested in early feedback.
